Setting Page Margins

To set margin values for your document, select File> Page Setup from the Menu Bar, and click the Margins tab.

Use this page for older versions of Word (95-97).

1- Enter margin values in the Top, Bottom, Left, and Right boxes.

2- Click to choose your page orientation- either Portrait or Landscape.

The Preview window at the bottom of the window shows you what the margins look like.

3- Click OK when finished.

Helpful Hint: The Pages section allows you to choose what kind of document you want to create. Most of the time you will use "Normal", but if you are typing some kind of booklet you will want to choose "Book Fold."

To Add Page Numbers

1- Select Insert> Page Numbers from the Menu bar.

2- Select the position of the page numbers by choosing "Top of page" or "Bottom of page" from the Position drop-down menu.

3- Select where you want the page numbers to appear (left, center, right) in the Alignment drop-down menu.

4- Click OK when finished.

Print Preview and Printing

Preview your document by clicking the Print Preview button on the Standard toolbar. Print Preview Button

by selecting File> Print Preview on the Menu Bar.

by selecting File> Print on the Menu Bar.

Let's look at the print dialog window. Page Range allows you to choose exactly how much of your document you want to print. You can print the entire document, the current page you are working on, or you can enter specific page numbers.
