To Create a New Document

To Create a new document in Word, click the New Document button on the Standard Toolbar. New Document Button
or
Choose File> New from the Menu Bar.

To Open an Existing Document

To open a document you are already working on, click the Open File button on the Standard Toolbar. Open Button
or
Choose File> Open from the Menu Bar.

To Save a Document

To save a document, click the Save button on the Standard Toolbar. Save Button
or
Choose File> Save from the Menu Bar.

Helpful Hint: Many people find the "Save" and "Save As" commands confusing.

Save- saves your current document. Save As- makes a copy of your document. You can use "Save As" to save your document under a new name, or you can save your document to a different location.
